Eighteenth PCA Vis Pre-Moot 2025 in The Hague

On 3 and 4 April 2025, the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) hosted practice rounds for the 32nd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot at its headquarters at the Peace Palace in The Hague.

This year, 14 teams from 13 countries came together to compete in the PCA Hague Vis Pre-Moot:

  • The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)
  • McGill University
  • National Law School of India University, Bangalore
  • Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro
  • The Australian National University
  • Universidad de Costa Rica UCR
  • Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México
  • University of Geneva
  • University of Helsinki
  • University of Sydney

Over two days, each team had the chance to plead before tribunals composed of international arbitration specialists from various jurisdictions and legal backgrounds. The teams received detailed feedback on their pleadings in order to assist their preparation for the Vis Moot, which commenced on 10 April 2025.

   

After 4 sessions, the University of Sydney, the University of Geneva, and the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro emerged as the top three teams.

Noam Antonir, Peter Taurian and Alice Shan earned the top 3 oralist awards for their exceptional performances.
