Visit of the Secretary-General of the PCA to Viet Nam

From 17 to 20 November 2025, the Secretary-General of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), Dr. Hab. Marcin Czepelak, undertook his fourth official visit to Viet Nam.

The visit coincided with the third anniversary of the PCA Ha Noi Office, which was established in November 2022 to better serve the dispute resolution needs of users of PCA services in Asia.

On 18 November, the Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Nguyễn Hoà Bình, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, at the Office of the Government.

The discussion provided an opportunity to review the activities of the PCA Ha Noi Office and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation, including Viet Nam’s plans for an International Financial Centre.

On 19 and 20 November, the Secretary-General met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Mr. Ngo Le Van, as well as senior representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Viet Nam, the Ministry of Finance of Viet Nam, the Supreme People’s Court of Viet Nam, and the Viet Nam Lawyers Association.

The Secretary-General also delivered a public lecture at the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam, highlighting recent developments in the PCA’s work and the crucial role of international dispute settlement in promoting global stability.

These engagements provided a valuable platform to exchange views on the activities of the PCA Ha Noi Office and to explore new opportunities to strengthen the collaboration between the PCA and Viet Nam.
