PCA Office in Mauritius Welcomes New PCA Representative

The Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) is pleased to announce the arrival of its new Representative in Mauritius, Mr. Túlio Di Giacomo Toledo, who will take over from Ms. Claire de Tassigny Schuetze on August 8, 2016. The Representative of the PCA in Mauritius assists with the discharge of the PCA Secretary-General’s functions under the Mauritian International Arbitration Act of 2008 and advances the promotion of Mauritius as a venue for international arbitration and PCA services throughout the African region. A lawyer qualified in Brazil, Túlio has served with the PCA International Bureau in The Hague and clerked at the International Court of Justice. Claire leaves the post after a challenging year and a half in Mauritius, during which, in addition to her regular responsibilities, she also served as member of the host committee for the ICCA 2016 Congress. She will resume her functions as PCA Legal Counsel in The Hague.

The PCA office in Mauritius opened in September 2010 as a result of the PCA-Mauritius host country agreement concluded in April 2009. It is the first, and so far the only, permanent presence of the PCA outside of The Hague. More information on the PCA office in Mauritius, including contact details, can be found here.
