PCA to host Vis Pre-Moot in April 2014
On April 7 and 8, 2014, the PCA will host practice moots to prepare students for the Twenty First Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna from April 12 to 17, 2014. The practice moots will be held at the PCA’s facilities in the Peace Palace.

The arbitral proceedings are being conducted pursuant to Chapter Eleven of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). The PCA acts as registry in the arbitration.

At a seminar hosted by the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) on 11 October 2013 to commemorate the centenary of the Peace Palace, Mr. Brooks W. Daly was appointed an Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau. The award was presented to Mr. Daly by H.E. Judge Willem Haak, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands.

The PCA will hold a seminar on October 11, 2013, for invitees only, to commemorate the centenary of the Peace Palace. The Peace Palace was constructed, through the generous donation of Andrew
Carnegie, in order to house the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Formally inaugurated on August 28, 1913, and maintained ever since by the Carnegie Foundation, the Peace Palace has come to be recognized globally as the icon of international peace and justice.
